I woke up earlier than usual one morning and just couldn’t go back to sleep. I begged my eyelids to close, even for an hour more, but it was to no avail; they were disobedient. I then decided to clean the windows and other areas in the house that were longing to feel cleanliness. By the time I completed all those activities, it was breakfast time so I fixed something simple. I was on holiday so my regular work routine was somewhat disturbed. That is, instead of going to work I relaxed and watched my favorite movies, in peace. While I was enjoying a movie, my boys were playing too loudly on the veranda so I asked them kindly to tone down a little; they did accordingly.
I then sat comfortably on my couch as, after all, I needed to relax my brain. But you know, sometimes when we are too comfortable in life things usually happen, and so it was with me that morning; I was attacked and knocked out. It happened so quickly and quietly that not even my boys knew what was happening to their dear mom. My body was tired too so there was nothing I could do to stop what was happening to me; I couldn’t defend myself. I just didn’t have the strength to fight.
Sometimes we tend to get nervous or scared when things happen to us but on that morning, fear was a stranger. As a matter of fact, I didn’t need to panic nor be fearful as it was only ‘Sleep’ that attacked me, for about 10 minutes. Hmm! I enjoyed it so much that I felt like I was under it for hours. Surprisingly too, my boys usually wake me up as soon as I start sleeping in the days, but it would seem they had planned with ‘Sleep’ that morning; they didn’t care to rescue me. They didn’t wake me during those 10 minutes. However, they couldn’t hold out for too long because they later woke me up to tell me that I was sleeping, “Mom, mom you’re sleeping!”
Well, that’s basically how I was rescued from ‘Sleep’, my attacker.
