A Dream of Abundance and Divine Provision!

I dreamt I was at work but left, during my planning session, to take care of an important matter. On my way, I met some friends, and as we walked, we came across a cherry tree filled with lush green leaves and beautiful, ripe cherries; we were amazed at some of their sizes. Cherries are usually small, but I had that awe moment when I saw that some were far bigger than any I had ever seen, as big as oranges. Anyway, I picked some, but while my hands were busy picking, my mouth was doing its part as well – eating juicy cherries. After thinking I had eaten and picked enough, I realized I had no bag to carry them. My hands couldn’t hold them all, and neither could my stomach hold any more. I was full!

I then went to a nearby building to ask if anyone had a bag, but no one did. After asking for a while, I heard someone speaking in a room and when I looked, I saw a young man lying on a bed. He didn’t sound sick, but something seemed wrong with his leg. When I asked about bags, he pointed to a spot where there were plenty. I took one and left.

On my way back to the cherry tree, I met my grandmother, who has been deceased for more than a decade now, and I was so excited to see her that we began talking. While we talked, I realized that instead of taking a plastic bag, the kind I saw in abundance where the young man was, I had picked up a small crocus bag – which didn’t seem ideal for the cherries. Without deliberating, I returned to the young man – only to be taken aback by what I saw. Before me were piles of bread, and after a brief exchange of words, I picked one up and walked away.

As I headed back to my grandmother, I suddenly felt the need to use the bathroom, so I rushed in but stayed longer than expected. While preparing myself to get out, something unfortunate happened and I had to address it. Minutes after, I apologized to two people who had been waiting to use the bathroom. Prior to reaching the bathroom, I had borrowed someone’s air freshener but forgot to take it back when I was finished. So, when I left the bathroom and remembered, I tried returning for it about three times, but for some strange reason, I just couldn’t – it was like something, or someone didn’t want me to go back. I then thought of retrieving it later in the day.

While walking back to work, I remembered that I should have been teaching a class, but I would have been late – my planning period was over. So, I considered calling my supervisor with an excuse for being late. I’m usually punctual, so I thought she would understand. But I couldn’t tell her the truth – that I had too many cherries to eat and had to rush to the bathroom!

As I continued walking, I heard a bus approaching and instantly I found a safe place so it could pass without hitting me. However, a car was coming from the opposite direction, and I almost panicked. The road was narrow, so two vehicles couldn’t pass easily. One driver tried to make space, but half of his car hung over a gully. At that moment, I woke up.

The Meaning Behind the Dream

A few days before the dream, I fasted and prayed earnestly, asking God to visit me in my sleep or give me a sign that He heard my prayers. I was believing Him for a breakthrough. Nothing happened that night, but two days later, He answered in His perfect timing. When I woke from the dream, I knew without a doubt that it was Him speaking to me. The beauty of the cherry tree alone assured me that something wonderful was ahead. I didn’t need anyone to interpret that part; its meaning was clear. Later, however, after doing some research, I came to understand the significance of each detail.

The cherry tree with large, ripe cherries represented abundance and blessings beyond expectation. As I tried to gather them, I realized I had no bag—this spoke of the need for capacity and preparation to hold what God is releasing. Then, the young man with many bags and bread appeared, symbolizing unexpected provision and spiritual nourishment.

Meeting my grandmother reminded me of wisdom and support during transition, while the narrow road and the car hanging over a gully showed that even in tight, challenging situations, God provides protection and guidance.

This dream wasn’t just an answer but was confirmation that blessings were near. It reminded me that readiness, wisdom, and trust in God’s timing are essential to walking into breakthrough, and the breakthrough I received later that evening validated that truth.

I hereby declare that:

Abundance and blessings beyond expectation are my portion.

I have the capacity and wisdom to steward what God is releasing.

Unexpected provision and spiritual nourishment are mine.

In every transition and challenge, God will provide, protect, and guide me.

I am a professional with a poetic voice: to inspire hope and purpose - ‘For I know the plans I have for you’ (Jeremiah 29:11); to motivate action in faith, for ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord’ (Colossians 3:23). Along the way, I add a pinch of laughter, for ‘A cheerful heart is good medicine’ (Proverbs 17:22) and to top it off, I am trusting Proverbs 18:16 that my gift will open doors.
