A Letter of Apology to ‘Money’

money, profit, finance
Dear Money,
I hope this letter finds you being spent wisely and not frivolously. Did you know your importance is so great that even the Bible acknowledges it? Ecclesiastes 10:19 declares, “Money answereth all things.” This should reassure anyone who doubts your significance.
I must also take this opportunity to apologize on behalf of my fellow humans for their often-careless treatment of you. Many squander you thoughtlessly and then blame you when misfortune strikes, labeling you as evil. But you should not take this to heart. The holy scriptures make the truth clear. In 1 Timothy 6:10, it is written: “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” This verse speaks for itself; it liberates you of wrongdoing and places the responsibility where it belongs.
Furthermore, Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us that “the heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked.” This shows that people often misuse you and then unfairly blame you for the consequences. Despite these misunderstandings, I sincerely hope to see more of you in my bank account this year. After all, I believe God desires for His people to live with joy and prosperity.
Therefore, it is perfectly acceptable for the saints of God to work hard and achieve wealth, as long as they honor Him and remain true to their values. It is also commendable for them to stand in the spotlight, provided their light shines by doing what is right.
Yours sincerely,
One of your many spenders
