Life, Wild Thoughts,

A Letter of Apology to ‘Money’

money, profit, finance

Dear Money,

I hope when this letter reaches you it will find you being spent wisely and not foolishly. I know you are aware of how valuable you are but I still need to remind you – encouragement they say strengthens labor. Did you know that you are so important that even the very bible says you answereth all things? Yes, it does, and this information can be found in Ecclesiastes 10:19, in case my fellow humans think you can’t be that important.

I’m also using this medium to publicly apologize for my fellow human behavior towards you. Many of them use you foolishly and when terrible things attack them, they say you are evil. Please, do not feel too badly about yourself because the holy book thinks otherwise. In 1 Timothy 6:10 it says: “The love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and by craving it, some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs”.

I could elaborate on that verse but there’s no need to. It’s self-explanatory so rest assured, you are not the evil one. Jeremiah 17:19 says the heart of mankind is deceitful and desperately wicked, so they are likely to use you in various ungodly ways. Later they then tell lies as to how much you are the evil one.

Money, regardless of what some humans are saying about you, I’m hoping to see much more of you in my bank account this year. After all, God’s desire is for us to be happy and prosper, to have money.

Hence,

Nothing is wrong if saints of God work hard and become rich,

As long as they still honor Him and don’t switch.

Or, it’s ok for them to have money and be seen in the spotlight,

As long as they are shining for God by doing what’s right.

From: One of your many spenders.
