Beef Up Your Curve

children, girl, child

Early one morning,  all I could think of was how to beef up my curve,
When I should have first blessed my King, the God whom I serve –
The God who keeps all my members intact, including my nerve.

I’m not jealous of those with coca-cola bottle shape, but there’s a special curve on me that needs to be fixed.
And please, don’t judge me as yet but hear me out first before getting my points mixed.
You see, it’s important that I work on this curve as it enhances my beauty,
And I know so seeing that’s the only time people call me cutie.

It is said that the best curve on our body is our smile,
So that’s the curve I’m gonna work on for a while.
Too often when it’s not maintained it makes me look sad and vile;
Sometimes my face looks ‘long’ as if it’s in competition with River Nile.

To avoid all that, I’ll start exercising my jaw bones and get that curve in place,
So that my dear face will get the rest she deserves and can shine with grace.
I have nothing positive to gain if I allow sadness to keep piercing my face.
God’s desire is for me to be happy and that’s something to embrace.

Now, go ahead and start beefing up your curve,
Instead of worrying about things that could affect your nerve.

I am a professional with a poetic voice: to inspire hope and purpose - ‘For I know the plans I have for you’ (Jeremiah 29:11); to motivate action in faith, for ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord’ (Colossians 3:23). Along the way, I add a pinch of laughter, for ‘A cheerful heart is good medicine’ (Proverbs 17:22) and to top it off, I am trusting Proverbs 18:16 that my gift will open doors.
