A Romantic Christmas Invitation!

Years ago, a man with his busy-body self was trying to pursue me.

But when I was through with him, he had to beg his dear body to flee.

Yes, he realized our moods would never become synonymous – they would never be.

Why? I was far too Christ-minded and just wanted to remain man-free.

So, it would be a waste of his time to continue pursuing – even if he had tried on his knee.

Truth be told, I wasn’t in the mood for any man to romantically pree.

During our conversation, I tried nourishing his soul with spiritual food,

But instead of receiving it with grace, it would seem I had put him in a bad mood.

He accused my mouth of saying something rude.

I then thought, ” If the word of God is rude then to it my dear heart will remain glued”.

Man: “Hi, am I invited for Christmas?”

Me: “I am inviting you to Christ.”

Man: “At your house?”

Me: “At the one located in your heart.”

The conversation went on and on but he wasn’t ready to invite Christ into his heart.

Instead, he behaved as if he were extraordinarily smart.

He tried to attack me with lyrics and instantly, I knew what he wanted to start.

Maybe he was thinking of how to take me for a ride in a flashy ferrari golf cart,

Or maybe, just maybe, his carnal mind zoomed in on my body – a specific part.

However, his desires were not granted as my response hit his head like a well-aimed dart.

Man: “Mi wah marry yuh?

Me: “Why?”

Man: “Cause you are beautiful.”

Me: “So why aren’t you married?”

Man: “I’m too ugly!”

Me: “I know that beauty is within so if you’re ugly inside then indeed, you are ugly!”

Man: “How rude! Not nice.”

Me: “But you told me you’re ugly. You said it!”

Shortly after, it would seem he ran out of lyrics as the conversation came to a halt.

He thought his lyrics were soothing but later realized it needed more sugar and possibly a pinch of salt.

Anyway, I’m happy I was showing love by inviting him to Christ, so if his soul gets lost it would be his fault.

I am a professional with a poetic voice: to inspire hope and purpose - ‘For I know the plans I have for you’ (Jeremiah 29:11); to motivate action in faith, for ‘Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord’ (Colossians 3:23). Along the way, I add a pinch of laughter, for ‘A cheerful heart is good medicine’ (Proverbs 17:22) and to top it off, I am trusting Proverbs 18:16 that my gift will open doors.
